Executive for 2009/10

June 19, 2009

Thanks and Welcome to the Executive

For the past two years it has been my pleasure to serve the Richmond Area Quilters Guild as President.  It has been a busy and happy experience but I am pleased, now, to step back and spend the next two years as Past President offering my experience to the new Executive!

I wish to thank the members of my Executive Team for all their hard work and dedication.  Each one of you made my job so easy because you stepped up to do your job each and every day of the last two years!

Special thanks to Vice-President Jacquie Fuller, Treasurer Carmen Creighton, Secretary Lynda Rose, Membership Janice Wiggins, Program Jan Kittle, Library and Web Master Joanne Myers, Library Debbie Wilson, Past President Tracy Parr-Labbe, Meeting notes Ann McLean, BOM Sally Hare, Lynne Rochette and Jane Hare and Archives Lynne Price for their outstanding work as the Core Executive.

Warmest thanks to the members of the Committees who have supported the Core Executive and helped with the Executive Meetings at both the beginning and end of each year to keep the Guild healthy, happy and moving forward.  Thank you all for your selfless and enthusiastic work at all the Guild meetings, all 20 of them, at which you supplied activities, drink, food, information and enthusiasm!  What great examples you are to every member of the Guild!  You have set a high standard of commitment and involvement!

The new Executive for 2009/2010 to 2010/2011 begin their tenure on 1 August 2009.  Welcome to each and every one of you.  May you enjoy the same fun and loyalty from one another and the Guild members as we did!

    Hello Everyone,

Every year for the past 17 years my company, Classic Antique Shows has organized the very successful “Jewel of the Rideau Antique Show and Sale”, in Merrickville on the fourth weekend of August. This year we are planning the same event but with an exciting addition.

On August 22nd and 23rd, we are organizing an artisan’s show - The Merrickville Artisans Show and Sale, to be run in conjunction with our antique show. Although this will be a completely separate show it will share the same visitors. Based on last year’s attendance for the antique show we anticipate 3000 consumers will visit the two events in two days.

We would like to extend an invitation to the members of your organization to join us on that weekend. Complete information packages that will answer your multitude of questions are available by contacting me.
