Join us on March 17th for the movie “Quilts in Women’s Lives”. Popcorn will be served.

This meeting will be a celebration of winter with a pot luck of appetizers and desserts. Please, we would like everyone to wear blue and we will have some recorded music as well. Meeting starts at 7:30 and do remember to bring your show and tell items.

In support of Quilt Canada, we would like you to bring six 5″ charm squares in 100% cotton, to be included with the “goodie” bags. These will be collected and attached with our fox pins to be sent to Calgary.

Looking ahead to March, Susan will be featuring a movie about quilting so maybe we can make it a movie and popcorn evening!

1 tub (250 g) spreadable cream cheese
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil - drained & chopped
2 tbsp chopped fresh chives
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 tsp cracked black pepper

Mix together well. Makes 2 cups.

Should be made ahead.

Freezes well.

Our guest speaker for this evening will be Retta Rive speaking on her needlework and quilting and how these have developed into her present work as a fabric artist.

The Library will be back in full swing and if you have had books since the November meeting, please remember to return them at this meeting.

The Block of the Month ladies will gladly receive your December blocks and some lucky person will have a head start on a Christmas project for 2010!

Tracy will be holding the Special Raffle that consists of the prize won by our Guild at the Plowing Match with our Summer Challenge of 2007.

The Fat Quarter ladies will be back with their box of goodies. The rules for this are: if you bring a fat quarter, you may choose one in exchange.

The Quiltie ladies are in the back corner. Quilties were delivered to both CHEO and the Queensway Carleton Hospital in November.

Since our December potluck was cancelled by Mother Nature, we will be having a Ban the February Blues potluck in February. Come and hear what we have planned for you!

Things to remember: any outstanding books, block of the month, fat quarters, mug for tea or coffee and now, a bag for your boots to keep the floor dry and clean. Many thanks for your co-operation with this. Also, bring some warm slippers or socks for your feet.

PS put Greece on your Bucket List!

Here is a picture of the lucky person who won the raffle package, it appeared in a couple of local papers and was supposed to be on The Quilt website.

The winner was absolutely stunned and thrilled.  This was very special for her. 

 She bought the ticket at RBC in St Marys, we were surprised she was close to Stratford, making the picture possible.
